Our purpose is to form an effective partnership between the families and faculty for the intention of fostering greater student success. Together we will provide social, emotional, and academic growth for our students. We provide a wide array of cultural and educational programs, gifts to the school, library, and staff to improve our educational experiences for the children. We create social opportunities for the students, faculty and families. The PTO is a vital and integral part of Banyan School.

It is our endeavor to make all children feel significant, unique, and a capable member of our community. Recognizing the value of parental participation, we encourage you to contribute to your child’s success. We will assist and support the staff by working in a cooperative role to bring the home and school together. We will plan programs and activities to enhance our children’s education. Our income is derived from several means of fundraising that help to subsidize the planned activities.

Art Project Note CardsThe volunteers for this committee will work directly with the art teacher to co-ordinate students original art into professionally made products such as note cards, tote bags, journals, coffee mugs and more! |
Bagel, Pizza and Special LunchesThis committee will co-ordinate volunteers to help shop, set up and distribute lunches on a weekly basis. |
Book FairThis committee will co-ordinate volunteers to help set-up, work event and break down event. This year we will be using a new book vendor and will be more involved in choosing our books etc. |
Box Tops for EducationThis committee will co-ordinate volunteers to help set-up, work event and break down event. This year we will be using a new book vendor and will be more involved in choosing our books etc. |
Cultural ArtsThis committee’s job is to review, select and arrange exciting assemblies and enrichment programs to bring to the school. |
Candy Wrap Sale FundraiserThis committee acts as the liaison between the marketing company and the PTO to conduct the gift wrap and candy sale that takes place in the fall. These volunteers market, process and distribute the products when they arrive at the school. |
Graduation and Awards CeremonyThis committee will order and set up refreshment for the graduation and also provide awards for outgoing parents as well as those who are active participants in the PTO. |
Homeroom ParentsThis committee will help to organize representatives from each class for the purpose of communicating with all families and notifying about school closings as well as donating refreshments for special events, etc for Banyan. |
Library Volunteers and Birthday Book ClubThis committee will co-ordinate volunteers to work closely with the librarian and assist with re-stocking of books on a weekly basis. They will also encourage parents to donate money for new books to the library in honor of their child’s birthday. They will be responsible for notifying parents and collecting the donations. |
Manners MatterCoordinate and set up with K.P. consulting this workshop that will introduce the students to the do’s and don’ts of everyday etiquette. There will be two workshops, one in the fall and one in the spring. |
School Field TripsThis committee will review, select, and arrange with Ms. Saunders exciting trips for all students to enhance their education. |
Teacher Appreciation LuncheonThis committee organizes a luncheon, held in March in honor of our teachers and staff. |
